Dr. Bianca Schmidt is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and is Nationally Certified in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California and her Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California.
Bianca specializes in the treatment of pain and injuries, as well as digestive, hormonal and emotional imbalances. In order to develop the most comprehensive evaluation and treatment plans, she combines the ancient tools of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern laboratory diagnostics.
Utilizing a nurturing and therapeutic touch, Bianca employs a variety of modalities to help awaken each patient’s own healing potential. Acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and massage are often incorporated into each session to help facilitate increased circulation, pain reduction and a greater sense of well-being. In addition, herbal remedies as well as dietary and lifestyle recommendations are included where appropriate to address constitutional imbalances. Whether working with athletes, executives, busy moms or retirees, treatment plans are tailored to maximize the benefits of every session and to support each patient’s specific health goals.
Aside from individual treatments, Bianca also offers health education seminars on topics including self-care, stress management and nutrition. She is passionate about equipping others with tools for disease prevention as well as the restoration and maintenance of optimum health.
Prior to her calling in Chinese Medicine, Bianca spent 14 years instructing outdoor science and facilitating adventure education programs in California, Colorado and Australia. She often draws on these experiences and her training in Biology and Experiential Education to help patients understand and live more harmoniously with the created rhythms in nature.
With an insatiable passion for just about anything outdoors, Bianca often spends her free time in the wilds on a bike, in running shoes or on a surfboard. She also enjoys playing and listening to music, creative cuisine, engaging with community or just curling up with a good adventure story.
